Hello. I am Stephen Texeira, Solutions Architect at Dell software. And welcome to the Pre-migration Readiness video series featuring Dell's Change Auditor for Exchange. In today's video, we're going to showcase the Dell Change Auditor for Exchange solution and how we can help you prepare for your upcoming migration and better manage your future environment after the migration is complete.
So you can see here we have the pre-migration components, visibility into your environment, discover system performance issues, prepare access plan for migration consultants or resources. During the migration we can get visibility into who was making what changes during the migration, receive live alerts to email and smartphones when critical items are changed.
We provide automated reports. We provide automated reports to auditors. And in the post-migration side, we continually track and report on access changes and activities, eliminate the need for native auditing logs to save in storage resources, and improve log collection performance, and generate predetermined or custom reports to ensure compliance.
So here we can see the Dell Change Auditor for Exchange interface. You can see here we have an Overview tab that we're looking at currently, and you can see some activity in the Exchange side. So we can see the severity, the time something was detected, the subsystems, the users that perform the activity, what event was triggered, from what server, on what server.
The Facility Exchange Mailbox Monitoring is the template that we're using here, where it is, the domain, and so forth. So if I look quickly here, and I'm actually going to go in and create and generate this event one more time here so you can see what we're monitoring. So I'm actually logged into a mailbox for the user, Helen Brooks. And Helen Brooks is a delegate, so this would be a use case scenario where we want to determine what delegates are active to mailboxes that may be in migration.
Because we all know that migration of mailboxes from a source exchange to a target exchange environment, for example, the delegates and the person for whom they have delegation rights to their mailbox should be migrated in close concert, or closed circuit as we call it, for full fidelity and coexistence going forward.
So I can look at the mailbox for the president that she has access to. And for example, if I go in here and open up a message, all right. So we'll actually take this opportunity to take a look at the alerts that the system will send out as well. At some point in time the president was receiving the alerts. Not something you would do in the real world. But you can see the executive mailbox read and modification by non-owner.
We can send that to that particular user saying somebody else is reading their mail. So with that event generated again, or having opened up that particular email for that user, let's go back into the Change Auditor interface here. And we can see that, upon the refresh, at this particular time frame, 7:36 AM, so I can look at the details. I am looking at the details of this particular activity.
So I can see here that on a medium severity, who? Helen Brooks. Where? On the Exchange 2010 server. What? A message in the inbox folder for the president was read by a user other than the non-owner. So this is telling us that yes, she does have rights, and she is, in fact, looking at the mail, but she is an active delegate of that particular mailbox and should, in fact, be considered for closed circuit migration with the president himself.
We can also take a look at searches. And again, this is Exchange Auditor for Exchange, is a platform add on for our Change Auditor platform, so we also do everything from Active Directory down through SharePoint Exchange, et cetera, as well. And from an administrative task standpoint, you can actually see the mailboxes that we've quarantined for non-owner access of the object. You can do this for the enterprise-wide, as a collective, or you can do it as an individual value as well.
