[MUSIC PLAYING] At Radboud University, we have about 20,000 students, 3,500 faculty, and 20,000 external users, ranging from people who work at our academic hospital, to alumni or researchers from abroad, totaling about 45,000 to 50,000 people that we manage. We're handling a lot of sensitive data, ranging from people's private data, bank account information, to sensitive research data. And you have to be sure that only those people who should have access to that material have access.

People have multiple roles, and the more those interact, the more difficult it becomes to manage.
When somebody moved from one department to another, all these old entitlements stayed intact. The risk is that people remain authorized for things that they shouldn't be, according to their new role.
Laws and business requirements regarding how people leave and enter and intuition, or the access people have within an institution, changes constantly. With our previous IDM system, we couldn't cope with the amount of change that was needed without greatly increasing the staff. The Identity Manager seemed like a well implementable choice, a solid choice, proven software. They also had strong implementation partners here within the Netherlands.

The main reason we trusted in the Identity Manager was the fact that it was able to swiftly and effectively show during proof of concepts, that it could deliver the kind of services we required, both on the provisional level and on a governance level.
They had some good functionality deployed. So the key was to deploy an operational system as fast as possible, and then enable them to build from there.
Intragen's core RDM helped them to get a good understanding of our institution, and how IAM is modeled within our institution, ensuring that we didn't just get the right product, and that we also used it in a way that fit our institution.

The amount of manual actions that needs to be taken when someone joins or leaves our institution has been reduced. And when you have 10,000 people leaving and entering your institution on a yearly basis, that's a lot of gain in actions. We've been able to decrease enrollment time by about 50%, and showing that it goes down from two or three days to a single day. Our Identity Manager has been able to help us address complexity due to the systems in place to handle multiple persona.
They've used the features within the Identity Manager to create a master identity, whereby they can see each sub-identity and how everything fits together as a big piece. When you can have an overview of that, of every piece of access, whether it's on data governance or access governance, that is pretty special.
Intragen contributed to a successful implementation, both by helping us understand our own organization and finding ways where we can improve it, by offering the necessary expertise of the product and, most importantly, by ensuring we ourselves had the tools to grow our usage of the product. With Identity Manager, we're able to tackle the issues the business has, as swiftly as the business wants them tackled.
We had a very good cooperation in the last two years in the project, and it really felt like a partnership.
They're actually very interested in not just how we use the product today, but how we want to use the product in the future. We don't just have a solution for today, but we also have a solution for tomorrow.
