Also, to add to this question - when we said SDS - do we meant that we can mix any type of hardware underneath and create a resource pool?
That will depend on the the amount of disk space you require in QoreStor.
Cloud optimized - 40Tb or less, 16Gb of RAM, 4 cores - 2000 IOPS sequential, 850 IOPS Random
Standard - Greater than 40Tb up to 150Tb 24Gb of RAM, 8 cores 2000 IOPS sequential, 850 IOPS Random
Actually we're calling QoreStor SDSS, Sofware Defined Secondary Storage.
We can't create resource pools over specific hardware sets.
We can however create Storage Groups within the QoreStor instance that allow data separation and different data handling policies to be used.
Ok. So where is the data being stored? Is it going to be on Prem or Cloud? If it is on Prem, then what kind of hardware are we suggesting?
Both. You can run a QoreStor instance in the cloud or on prem. You can replicate between them too.
There are different selections in the installer that allow you to chose between, trial, Cloud optimized or standard install. Each has differing hardware requirements.
These are covered in the tech docs and install guides.
