“We’ve got to think of data as a human right, and privacy as a human right.” — Satya Nadella at The World Economic Forum.

Healthcare is arguably the most critical industry to protect due to the sensitivity and vulnerability of its data, and with human lives in the balance every single day.  And during the past year, Quest demonstrated significant commitment and growth in the healthcare industry, as our healthcare software solutions have helped healthcare providers, hospitals and insurers of all sizes and across the globe easily migrate, manage and secure Office 365, AD, Azure AD, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business and Exchange.

Because of this commitment and growth, Microsoft named Quest a finalist in the 2019 Microsoft Health Partner of the Year Award. Quest was honored among a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of customer solutions based on Microsoft technology. Awards were presented in several categories, with winners chosen from a set of more than 2,900 entries from 115 countries worldwide.

Quest has a long, successful history in providing healthcare organizations with the tools to manage and secure their Microsoft environment. Few industries face as many IT challenges as healthcare. With mergers and acquisitions (M&A) rapidly occurring and cloud adoption projected to triple from 2015 to 2020, IT departments must balance continuous IT modernization and consolidation with meeting HIPAA compliance, increasing security requirements and rolling out electronic health record (EHR) software.

Quest healthcare customer, Avera Health, recently updated its AD infrastructure to prepare for digital transformation while delivering the highest level of patient care. The healthcare provider consolidated four AD forests into one to simplify the migration to Azure and Office 365. According to Curtis Mavity, Senior Systems Engineer at Avera Health, “Trying to plan and migrate multiple domains and forests into one Azure tenant would have been a nightmare if we didn’t modernize AD first with Quest migration solutions.”

Avera completed its AD consolidation nearly twice as fast as expected, and with zero impact on end users and zero data loss, ensuring no disruption to patient care. "We projected the migration would take 14 months, but with Migration Manager, we shaved 6 months off that timeline,” said Mavity.

And Avera’s AD modernization accelerated Azure and Office 365 adoption because it reduced IT management costs, simplified on-prem to cloud synchronization and streamlined O365 license purchasing and provisioning.
