Effective February 1st, Quest is introducing price increases on certain Quest and One Identity solutions. We're letting you know in advance to give you an opportunity to encourage your customers to buy at current pricing (by ordering before January 31).

What's Changing and When?

List prices will increase by approximately 5% for designated products (see the end of this email) in each of our solution areas. In addition, Professional Service hourly/daily billing is increasing 5%. However, any pre-priced bundled services will not have a price increase. Again, new pricing takes effect February 1st for all license, pre-paid maintenance, renewal and professional services SKU's for each impacted product.

Why Are Prices Increasing for Selected Products?  How Do I Explain the Increase to My Customers?

The price change reflects our ongoing investments in development and support for our products, and though it's common practice for software companies to adjust prices annually, Quest has not had broad list price changes for several years.

What Do I Need to Do as a Seller?

Set all license and professional services quotes to expire by January 31st. For new license and/or professional services quotes covering the products that will have price increases, please ensure your quotes expire no later than January 31st. If your customer requests a later expiration date, inform them that you'll issue a revised quote for them on February 1st once new pricing takes effect.

Offer license expansion and pre-paid maintenance for customers looking to realize savings. The upcoming price increase provides a reason for customers to buy in Q4 to cover future needs. Encourage your customers to buy ahead for licenses or invest in multiyear pre-paid maintenance at current pricing to realize savings. We are not proposing changes to pre-paid maintenance discounts at this time.

How Does This Impact Me as a Partner?

Partner pricing for impacted products will also increase by ~5% where the partner price is based on a discount off of our list price. Our Products & Pricing team will release preview pricing for our partners 30 days in advance.

What is the Impact to FY20 Renewals?

Renewal quotes will be honored through their expiration date. Renewal quotes for the 1st half of FY20 will not have the new pricing since they are issued up to 6 months in advance of expiration.  This price change also only impacts renewals sold at list price, which is a small percentage of our overall renewal pool. For renewal quotes that reference list price, the new list price will be incorporated into renewal quotes created February 1st or later.

What is the Impact to Non-USD Price Lists?

Effective February 1st, pricing exchange rates will be updated for all currencies, resulting in additional adjustments to all items in non-USD price lists. While price impact will vary by currency, sales actions are the same:  Expire license quotes by January 31st and advise your customers to buy licenses or pre-paid maintenance in Q4 to take advantage of current pricing.
