Sharepoint Migration - Files which have no checked in version. These files cannot be migrated / An issue occurred while processing web parts / file not found

Problem

Some files may not be migrated properly. Either documents or site pages. There are a number of warning generated in the logs, which may mention the below

  • List Site Pages includes "x" files which have no checked in version. These files cannot be migrated.
  • An issue occurred while processing web parts
  • Unable to process the following parts "xyz" (File Not Found.)

Cause

The root cuase of the issue relates to files that have no "checked in version" within the Sharepoint document libary and maybe currently checked out.

Resolution

  • As a SharePoint Site Admin go to the source Document Library Settings >> Click on the “Manage files which have no checked in version” link under Permissions and Management group.
  • Select files under “Files checked out to others:” by checking the Check the box in each file.
  • Click on “Take Ownership of Selection” and confirm the prompt “Are you sure you want to take ownership of file name”.
  • This makes the file available for you. Now, go to the document library and Check in the file(s
  • Re-Run the Migration
