This will depend on your environment
there are users that do 1 full backup weekly then rest of days differentials and hourly incremental transaction logs
there are users that do 1 full backup weekly then rest of days differentials (they have simple recovery model set on db's that doesn't requires log backups)
there are users that do full backups all days
there are users that do 1 full backup weekly or monthly, differentials rest of days and daily incremental transaction log
It depends on how much logs do you generate, recovery models set for db's, the amount of work loss exposure and if recovery PIT (point in time) needed, this backups strategies should be set by a DBA that knows his environment.
