DFS migration using Quest

The file servers that are a part of the DFS namespace get processed like any other file server using RUM, however the DFS namespace itself needs to be recreated in the target AD and then the processed file servers once moved to the new domain.

if you have a large DFS with a lot of Data. I recommend you use the command line vmover.exe instead of RUM. Because the RUM will time out (In my settings, RUM timed out after 24 hours)

Technically DSF is a pointer system, it really does not have any data, it has pointers to servers with the data. I would recommend processing the data in the file servers that DFS points too.
