Where is the migration information stored if only AD is migrated? Does it also use SQL for it, like when migrating Exchange?

The information is stored in an application partition known as a Project that is created by MMAD within an instance of AD LDS that you typically will setup on your "console" machine.
So, does AD LDS needs to be installed on the same server as the "console" machine"? And is there any option to provide redundancy in case the "console machine" crashes?
No it doesn't HAVE to be on the same machine. And yes, you can provide yourself redundancy by creating replicas of the AD LDS instance - that's a native feature of AD LDS.
Thanks. So reinstalling MMAD will be sufficient to get the migration going?
Reinstalling?
I think you are going to have to explain your situation a bit more before we can answer that.
When a server (VM) crashes where MMAD is installed and we need to reinstall MMAD "Console Machine", that's what I meant. We haven't installed anything yet there is not much to explain. I'm just gathering information which will help us to decide whether we use MMAD or not! Thanks again...
