Using the Custom Copy

I would like to know if using Content Matrix Console SharePoint Edition​ 8.5.0.3 configuration setting "Custom Copy"  - 

  • Existing Lists: preserve lists (update list & Check modified dates for lists)
  • Existing Items/Documents: preserve lists (update items & Check modified dates for items/documents)
  • Other Options:  migrate item deletions only (box is checked)

Would this delete and item that is brand new on the target but not in the source?

    Hi Judi,

     

    Yes, enabling the "Migrate ​Item Deletions Only" option will delete any content that has been deleted on the source, as well as newly-uploaded content on the target.

     

    If you want to migrate deletions, but retain newly-uploaded content on the target, you may run a Compare job and use its result in a custom PowerShell script, which will check if the content is a migrated file, then delete it. For assistance with custom scripts, please consult your account manager or sales representative about professional services.
