What connection types are recommended for source and for target when migrating a SharePoint on Prem 2010 farm to SharePoint on Prem 2016?
Hi April,
To optimize migration performance, it is recommended to use the Database connection to the source (SharePoint 2010) and either the Local or Metalogix Extensions Web Service (MEWS) connection to the target (SharePoint 2016). Please refer to the links below for other connection types that may be used:

Hi Cyrus,
Thank you for the quick response. I'm more concerned about the data migrating over properly. IE InfoPath Form Libraries, Navigation, and Permissions. Based on the info provided in the Metalogix Content Matrix SharePoint Edition, it states in order to bring the Navigation over all the way down to the child/sub sites to connect to the source in either OM, MEWS, or DB and connect to the Target in CSOM.
Reminder, we are migrating from on prem 2010 to on prem 2016.
Hi April,
Kindly refer to the following KB article that extend on the issue.
