Managed Metadata has the same name and a different hierarchy on the target environment

Hi -

Managed Metadata has the same name and has a different hierarchy in the target environment. And I'd like to set Content Matrix to use the existing value on the target irrespective of hierarchy.

For the attachment mappings example Puerto Rico should be resolved based on label name

If I select 'Resolve managed metadata by name and hierarchy' - a New term i.e. 'Puerto Rico' with different GUID is getting added at level 1 i.e. at International term level.

If I unselect 'Resolve managed metadata by name and hierarchy' term label 'Puerto Rico' is getting added to the list item metadata but with an error (at browser) ' Term is not a valid term' .

Thanks, Cyrus. Yes I reviewed this article previously and I don't think I found a solution for my issue.

I've no issues with copying managed metadata except this scenario. (pls refer to attachment).

Hi Jash,

Does the issue persist after setting the "UseExistingTargetTerms" key in the %AppData%\Metalogix\Content Matrix Console - SharePoint Edition\ApplicationSettings.xml file to "True" and ensuring that the only Managed Metadata option enabled in the job configuration is "Map term stores for migration"?

With below two settings, looks like content matrix console is adding a new term with the same label at different level (which is not desirable)
1. UseExistingTargetTerms = True
2. 'Map term stores for migration' (only option enabled in Managed Metadata Options tab
