Can Content Matrix Migrate MS Teams and Planner?

A client of ours is performing a divesture of one of their divisions and needs to split and migrate part of their O365 SharePoint environment and all related items to a new tenant.

I know Content Matrix can do the SharePoint side of things but I had two quick questions:

  1. Can Content Matrix migrate “Microsoft Teams” sites to either a SharePoint site or another “Microsoft Teams” site?
  2. Can Content Matrix migrate Microsoft Planner items to another tenant’s Microsoft Planner environment?

  • Hello Doug,

    1) Yes, Content Matrix can migrate “Microsoft Teams” sites to a SharePoint site. Please follow the steps below:

    • Microsoft Team Sites needs to be connected at "site level"
    • Use Microsoft Team Site URL explicitly in the Address Bar and select "Target type" as "Site" (Please do not select Office 365 Tenant as Target Type since MS Team Sites is not part of regular SP sites) when connecting to MS Team Sites
    • Choose "Client Side Object Model" as a Connection Type and O-365 standard/ADFS as an Authentication Type
    • Enter credentials in the Different user box

    2) No, migrating Microsoft Planner items to another tenant’s Microsoft Planner environment is not currently supported.

    Kind Regards,

    Eliza
