Hi,

as some know I developed a Tooling for Foglight that allows you to export Cartridges which include your customizations. This is something that comes very handy when you like to organize a bigger environment, make sure all Servers have the same Customizations and Version.

You can achieve the same with ant files and the Foglight commandline. But the Tooling will give you a nice Dashboard to define all necessary Information using the FMS User interface.

This is an community-supported extension. I would recommend not to use it in production environments if possible but use it in preprod or staging environments instead. It is published for all Foglight Server running 5.6.2, 5.6.3 or 5.6.4.

what you need to do :

Download the Cartridge from http://fglide.apmcentral.org you will also find some additional Information. if you're interested in the Export only please use the export Package
Make sure your Foglight user has the Cartridge Developer permission by adding the role or adding the user to the Cartridge Developer Group
install the Cartridge using the Cartridge Inventory dashboard
Go to the Export Cartridges dashboard and create a new Definition. Cartridge Definitions will store the elements that need to be packaged and some other Cartridge informations. They will allow you to come back and re-export your cartridge after you changed some of the elements
Enter the Definition Editor and add some elements to your Cartridge

After you added some Elements you can create the .car file by using the export-to-cartridge button. This will create a Cartridge on your FMS local disk and allow you to download it using you browser.

Use this Cartridge to archive your customizations, upload them to the community or to install them on other Foglight servers. The Cartridges are versioned so that you can update an existing customization by exporting them into a cartridge using a higher Version number and install that Cartridge on your Target FMS.

I also created a short Video showing how to install and use the FGLIDE. I'm working on the Audio Quallity but maybe it'll help you during your first steps.
