How can i access to the historical monitoring (3 months ago) of a virtual server that i had to copy (snapshot), delete and reinstall in a new virtual server with the same hostname and ip?

I have a problem with Foglight. How can i access to the historical monitoring (3 months ago) of a virtual server that i had to copy (snapshot), delete and reinstall in a new virtual server with the same hostname and ip?

I have Foglight 5.7.1

Hi Eliud,

What you can do is search that VM name from right top corner at global search box then select the VM with no current data then change time to pass to see old data.

Hi Lee,

When i search an select the new VM the info is from the new host, i can't see the historical info form the old server.

Hi Eliud,

Unfortunately. Chances are that the host you reinstalled received a new identity in Foglight when re-created in the new vCenter. Foglight (since VMware cartridge 5.7.1) would keep track of a VM only if it was moved using long distance vMotion, but if it was recreated from a backup it will not link the old data with the new data as the vCenter ID and possibly the VM id have changed.
